This company is looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager with a strong background in eCommerce to lead a team focused on digital commerce. This role will be crucial in helping the digital team deliver outstanding online experiences that enhance customer engagement and support the growth of the eCommerce platform. The role reports to the Technical Director and is part of the senior leadership team, working closely with the eCommerce engineers and broader digital team.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with senior technology leadership to develop and implement a digital technology strategy that drives innovation and aligns with business goals.
Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of 5-6 engineers, ensuring their growth and development within the organization.
Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance to support the development and delivery of scalable, reliable digital solutions.
Stakeholder Communication: Build strong relationships with stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into actionable strategies for non-technical audiences.
Delivery: Oversee multiple projects, working closely with product managers and engineers to manage timelines and ensure successful product delivery.
Requirements
Experience in hands-off management with deep knowledge of microservices, distributed systems, and working in a continuous delivery environment.
Proven experience building and managing engineering teams.
Previous experience in an eCommerce environment at a similar level.
Familiarity with modern programming languages (e.g., TypeScript, Golang).
A strong engineering background with experience in agile methodologies.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
