Role Overview:
The Principal Product Innovation is responsible for identifying and developing high-impact and distinctive product capabilities for the organization. This role involves working closely with operational leaders to explore and assess innovation opportunities through a wide variety of projects. The Principal Product Innovation creates a process for capturing, evaluating, and refining new ideas into specific, measurable opportunities, and leads the team in driving these initiatives from inception to completion through a structured process. This role also involves developing business cases and working with executive leadership to prioritize and make key decisions at various stages. Additionally, the Principal Product Innovation fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and ownership, encouraging others to generate ideas.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with operational and business leaders to address complex challenges and transform significant pain points into high-impact innovation opportunities. Conduct validation and experiments to support these initiatives.
Develop and manage processes for capturing, evaluating, and refining ideas from stakeholders at all levels through formal submissions and discussions. Build a pipeline of innovative ideas.
Conduct research to stay informed on emerging trends, technologies, and innovations within the industry. Generate new ideas and insights for potential application.
Lead cross-functional teams in driving innovation projects from initial conception to prototype development, assessing feasibility and impact. Set the foundation for full-scale development of successful initiatives.
Present business cases and findings to executive leadership to obtain approval for go/no-go decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Build and manage an extended innovation team, including data engineers and data scientists, fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and ownership within the team.
Encourage experimentation and advancements in promising innovations within the organization.
Requirements:
Required Certifications: Appropriate certifications relevant to the role.
Preferred Experience:
7-10 years of leadership experience.
Experience in leading people and teams.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in relevant fields (e.g., Computer Science).
